New position as Payroll Specialist for Mærsks new warehouse in Taulov

On behalf of our client Mærsk, we are searching for their new Payroll Specialist whose priority will be to run the payroll process from A – Z for their new warehouse in Taulov, Frederica. The warehouse is expecting to grow increasingly in the coming months, creating the need for a new Payroll Specialist.

The new Payroll Specialist can be located near either Mærsks headquarters (HQ) in Copenhagen or at their new warehouse in Taulov. You will a part of Mærsk HQ’s payroll team.

The candidate will be responsible for local payroll operations and will ensure high quality. To a lesser extent, the job also entails continuous improvement to ensure a good employee experience and smart process optimizations. With a curious and investigative approach to the tasks, the candidate will also be responsible for validating payroll results and giving approvals for final payroll credits based on control reports.

Furthermore, you will be involved in the following tasks:

  • Quality assurance of employee data and payroll inputs going from Workday to the payroll vendor as well as manual payroll inputs such as hours and overtime. They are currently working on implementing a new time tracking system.
  • Pay salaries to mainly blue-collar employees located in the packing center in Taulov, but also White Collar to a limited extent. Workers are paid monthly.
  • Monthly payroll reconciliation, audit controls and preparation of a new payroll month.
  • Cooperation with the colleagues in the People Function to support employee/manager queries.
  • Ongoing contact with partners, pension providers and similar.
  • Helping to identify, report, mitigate and track risks in the payroll process.
  • Participate in system and process upgrades.

Who are we looking for?

The ideal candidate has several years of experience within a payroll function from a relatively big and complex organization. It is also an advantage (not a requirement) that the candidate has broader experience with companies operating within logistics/transport and the accompanying labour agreement (ATL Transport and Logistics labour agreement between Dansk Industri and 3F).

As a person, you exude integrity and good energy, and you have a collaborative work style that promotes cooperation and teamwork. You have a highly analytical approach with a strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude geared towards continuous improvement. It is vital that you are proactive and solution-oriented in your workflow and that you take initiative and ownership of your own processes and tasks.

Furthermore, a good understanding of financial aspects related to payroll as well as knowledge of IT systems related to payroll is also an advantage. Knowledge of Danish payroll laws is a requirement.
